How to Create Animal Print Nail Designs

Animal print nail designs are a fantastic way to express your wild side and add some exotic flair to your manicure. From leopard spots to zebra stripes, these designs can be fun, chic, and surprisingly easy to create. Here are some simple steps to create your own animal print nail designs at home:

1. Leopard Print:

Materials Needed: A base color (nude or light pink works well), a spot color (like black or brown), a dotting tool or toothpick, and a top coat.

  • Step 1: Start by painting your nails with the base color. Let it dry completely.
  • Step 2: Use your dotting tool or the tip of a toothpick to create random spots with your chosen spot color on each nail. Don't worry about making them perfect; irregular shapes make for a more realistic leopard print.
  • Step 3: Once your spots have dried, outline each one partially with black using your dotting tool or toothpick. Again, you're going for irregular shapes - some spots might only need a few black dashes around them.
  • Step 4: Finish with a top coat to seal in your design and add shine.

2. Zebra Stripes:

Materials Needed: A base color (white or silver), a striping color (usually black), a thin nail art brush or striping brush, and a top coat.

  • Step 1: Paint your nails with the base color and allow it to dry completely.
  • Step 2: Dip your nail art brush or striping brush into the striping color. Starting from one side of your nail, create a line that curves towards the center. Repeat this on the other side of the nail to create a V shape.
  • Step 3: Continue creating V shapes along the nail, making sure to alternate the direction of the V for each stripe. Try to make each stripe slightly different to capture the natural irregularity of zebra stripes.
  • Step 4: Once all stripes are dry, seal your design with a top coat.

Remember, practice makes perfect. Don't be discouraged if your first attempt isn't perfect; the more you practice, the better you'll get at creating these wild designs!
